First, we meet virtually to introduce ourselves and discuss the basics.
I will be available for any concerns or questions via phone or text 24 hours per day 7 days per week beginning at 38 weeks into your pregnancy. Of course, if any emergencies arise before that point, I will be there for you then too.
Once we begin working together, you will receive a drip of informative emails filled with educational resources.
I will join you as soon as you like when you begin labor, be there throughout the entire process, and stay with you for an hour or so after birth. I will provide you with pain management techniques, body positions to promote progress in labor, and emotional support. My goal is to amplify your autonomy and voice, as well as ensure informed decision-making, within the broader care team.
We will meet in-person for two prenatal visits to discuss your hopes and wishes and preparation for your body, birth, and the baby. We will do some fun exercises (with or without your partner/spouse) to help you learn about what is possible and the choices that may lie ahead.
Within the week following birth, I will visit you and your new baby at home to provide you with basic lactation support and self-care guidance. I will leave you with a range of resources to access as needed for the fourth trimester and beyond.
